The Pokertree in Carrickmore,
County Tyrone
WHY THE NAME
The Legend of the Pokertree
When I was a young boy I was told a legend about an old tree near our home in the village of Carrickmore, County Tyrone.
The story goes that on certain nights, when the air was very still and the moon was bright the Devil could be found sitting under the tree’s creaking branches playing cards.
Apparently if you ever saw him there you could challenge him to a hand. If you won he would grant you anything you desired, but if you lost your soul was his forever.
I don’t know if the story is true or not but every time I saw the tree I always wondered.
We named our Brewery after the Pokertree and with our range of handcrafted Irish Ales you know you won’t be gambling with quality.
Pokertree Brewing Company… Devilishly good Irish Ales.
